After publishing a few of her prose works in the Soviet
Union, Regina
Derieva adopted two pen names: Vasily Skobkin
and Malik Jamal Sinokrot.
Here is the cover of her book in Arabic titled
In the World of Awful Thoughts
The novelette with the same title was translated into
Lithuanian by Jonas
Morkus and published in the cultural magazine 'Šiaurės
Atėnai' (Athens
of the North). In this translation, her pen name
was changed to Vasilijus
Skobkinas. In 2002, she stopped the life of her
alter egos and published
all her prose works under her own name in the Moscow
publishing
house 'Tekst'.
